I know some wise and very smart people who happen to have a religion that they follow. all religions are basically the same in the fact that they all have a form of prayer to a higher power. I happen to pray to the ultimate power. what some call god, others call Bhudda, Jesus, Satan...whatever. I don't pray to Satan because what history has written is that Satan is not the ultimate power, and just an aspect. Buddha, im afraid i have not studied enough to make any clear idea of what it really is about. Jesus, well there is a question as to whether or not Jesus even existed as a man or not. in fact it takes what the bible calls faith to even believe he existed as anything more than just an aspect of a higher power.
I have heard teachings along the lines that all things are just energy vibrating a slow enough rate to exist in the physical plane for a short time similar to a note plucked on a guitar. its plucked, and vibrates and slows down to a halt, but its echoes escape outward for all to hear and sometimes even see. cause if the sound vibrates loud enough it can even make people go deaf, or shatter windows.
what I worship is the ultimate energy. the thing that started the ultimate vibration. the thing that caused the big bang. The ultimate source, the ultimate power, the thing people deny the existence of and the thing that is so infinitely powerful, it cannot be comprehended by our feeble human minds. even science cannot deny the existence of this power, nor can it ever figure out how it works. I worship it as a god because I happen to believe that this massive power has a sentience. one beyond our understanding of the word, and something that I, even after I die will probably continue to endeavor to understand.
Because I also believe that no form of energy can be destroyed, only changed. even science cannot deny this, so for that reason i know that even though my body may die, My consciousness will probably live on in some form or another throughout the cosmos, no longer imprisoned by this simple earthen, biological mass I call my body. I will do all i can to endeavor to understand this ultimate source.
Also, I am not afraid of death. Just afraid of dying. I hear its painful sometimes. And i only fear the pain i might endure when dying, whenever it may happen and whatever way.
now that I have gotten that little mess out of the way, let me say what this journal really is all about:
When a person tells another I love you, What are they really saying? I find you attractive? You have a beautiful way of words? you give me pleasure to be around? you are a good friend who has helped me for years to the point I can never repay? these are all just simple aspects, of one greater scheme. And it seems to work far beyond just human beings. there is love in nature as well, and I think that we could not even exist on this planet if it were not so.
So finally the reason I said that Atheists cannot believe in love is because I have come under the assumption that they honestly think they know exactly what love is which i have had some atheists flat out tell me this, or at least that's how it was conveyed to my understanding, which i will not doubt that i could be wrong. when the fact of the matter is they have no real clue. nobody does. It's a power that defies our comprehension, and until science has found exactly how love works I will continue to believe that Love is a supernatural force that guides our lives, and seems to be the name we have given to the ultimate universal power that kills both beggar and king. and I have faith that love will prevail over the hate that has come crawling into our society lately.
